Abstract
The problem with the mental health of the population is one of the current problems in all developed countries of the world. In the countries of the European Union, the number of individuals with mental illness has been increasing in recent years. This diploma thesis is focused on the topic of evaluation of the psychiatric care system in an international context. Health is considered one of the main and most important elements of an individual's life. The state of health of a given individual is an important element in whether the individual will live a full life. Health includes not only the state of the body, but also the state of the psyche. The aim of the thesis is to evaluate psychiatric care systems in the Czech Republic and the countries of the European Union. Within the framework of the research, EU countries were ranked according to success in the implementation of mental health care based on the analysis of selected aggregated indicators describing the development and state of mental health care systems, including policies, legislation and prevention, and based on the use of the WSA multi-criteria method.
