Abstract

The topic of my diploma thesis deals with the comparison of the efficiency of the sludge press and the decanting centrifuge for sludge dewatering at the Třinec wastewater treatment plant. The introductory theoretical part describes the principle of a wastewater treatment plant and its sludge management. Furthermore, there is a comparison of individual types of centrifuges, presses and technologies for sludge dewatering. The practical part presents the scheme of the wastewater treatment plant Třinec. Description of the reconstruction carried outat the Třinec wastewater treatment plant, where the belt press was replaced by a decanting centrifuge. Subsequently, the advantages and disadvantages of this reconstruction are described here, with evidence of laboratory evaluation of individual samples at the inlet and outlet, during the sludge dewatering. The amount of dry matter was determined from the samples taken and the subsequent evaluation of the sludge dewatering efficiency after the reconstruction of the drainage station of the Třinec wastewater treatment plant was performed.
