Summary (Annotation) IMPACT OF HUMAN CAPITAL ON ECONOMIC GROWTH Bc. Michal Škrobánek The goal of Diploma thesis is to prove positive impact of human capital on economic growth in advanced countries and at the same time whether has the human capital positive impact on economic growth in developing countries. These hypotheses about the relation of human capital and economic growth are tested on its own empirical analysis, consisting of descriptive and econometric analysis. Thesis is divided into three parts. First part consists of theoretical definition of human capital and economic growth. It describes historical and present view on the human capital, following by the definition of the economic growth theory. It includes the growth models from Solow neo-classic model to new endogenous models of economic growth. Second part of this thesis bears the summary of present empirical research in this area. After consideration of all approaches to human capital measurement, follows the creation of its own economic models with human capital. The third part presents own empirical analysis, where all hypotheses are tested. The conclusion brings the summary of the empirical analysis results and summary of the whole Diploma thesis. Diploma thesis is completed by many graphs and tables which demonstrate the results of the descriptive and econometric analyses. The enclosure supports the results by additional data and graphs.
