Vliv textilního a oděvního průmyslu na vývoj ekonomiky České republiky

Abstract

The thesis is talking about impact and importance of textile and clothing industry in czech countries economy and shows the direction of probable trends. The development from early times till nowadays is described in a teoretical part. In a practical part a reader gets to know a share of industries in chosen macroeconomic indicators (such as indicators of international business, employment and Gross Domestic Product) and a share in manufacturing industry. There are used a descriptive and a comparative analysis. A hundred years ago textile and clothing industry were traditional and key in forming of czech economy. Today the production adds less than 1 % on GDP. Clothing industry faces a huge wave of foreign goods from countries with lower labour costs and czech companies are not able to fight with this competitive advantage. On the other side czech textile producers enter foreign markets, especially european, with products with higher added value. Technical textiles expand thanks to their use in many areas (public health, transportation, etc.).
