Abstract

The diploma thesis Evaluation of the Impact of Selected Variables on the Investment Behavior is focused on the behavioral finance and financial markets. The aim of the thesis is to evaluate the impact of selected variables on the results of high liquid financial market investments, using a model of logistic regression. The set of variables includes for example gender of investor, length of trades, currency pair used for investment and it´s price, the volume of trade or an attitude to risk taking of investor. Data set was completed during lectures of Ing. Marek Jochec, PhD during years 2009 and 2014. There were involved 295 students in the research, who made more than 12 000 trades on the OANDA FX Trade Practice platform. Nowadays the data collection is proceeding at the VŠBTUO, Faculty of Economic. Using this data, logistic regression model was estimated using the maximum likelihood method. Statistical significance of predictors was evaluated using Wald test. Among variables, which positively influence profit making, belong X3 (trading with EUR/USD), X4 (higher price of traded pair), X5 (trajd amount of units), X6 (length of the trade), X9 (positive attitude to risk taking), X10 (previous experience with financial investments), X11 (adrenalin sport lovers). Profit making is negatively influenced by X1 (number of deals), X2 (active/passive termination of trade), X7(gender of trader-female), X8 (subjective feeling of addiction on trading).
