Abstract
The thesis presents a brief description of a long-distance belt conveying system modernisation - from technical and historical viewpoints. It deals with an implemented and proven principle of equipment functionality with regard to the technical concept and replacement of old electro-magnetic technologies with new modern technologies.
The whole modernisation has been carried out and described with the intention to achieve significant increase of energy efficiency of the newly used conveying system based on frequency converters, significant increase of safety and reliability of the system operation, unification of controls, standardisation of design, ability to secure the individual drives (motors) separately, and, in case of one of the main drive’s failure, the ability to operate the system on limited performance.
The thesis also presents a basic technical description and subsequent solution of replacing old technologies with new ones, surpassing them by several generations.
