Abstract

This diploma thesis focuses on the issue of floods and the technical equipment of voluntary firefighters in municipalities. The main goal of the thesis is to analyze the current state of equipment and subsequently to propose optimal means for liquidation of the consequences of large-scale floods by voluntary firefighters. The thesis also deals with floods and interventions by volunteer firefighters in the modern history of the Czech Republic. Another goal of the work is to make a financial estimate of the proposed technical means. Overall, this thesis can be summarized as a comprehensive analysis of the current state of equipment of voluntary units in the field of flood management. The output of this thesis can serve as a basis for planning and investing in the technical equipment of voluntary fire protection units to improve their ability to act in the liquidation of the consequences of large-scale floods.
