The bachelor thesis deals with the improvement of the current wire feeder model. It is a feeding system of filled wire profile for foundry and steel industry. The introduction describes the current feeder solution. The following describes the pressure of the feed roller by means of a spring. The starting point was based on the original solution, where the necessary pressures for reliable wire feed were calculated. Then a search for electrical drives that will be used at work is described. A multi-criteria analysis was performed to select the most suitable engine including gearbox. Then the model of the feeder including the control system in Creo Parametric 4.0 was created with the winning variant. The benefit of the work is to improve the model and achieve lower production costs.
