Abstract

The diploma thesis aims to optimize the composition of the molding mixture in the production of castings from graphitizing iron alloys by an implementation of the Grudzén Las base sands into the existing uniform bentonite mixture with the Střeleč base sands. The result of the experiment was to optimize the molding mixture in order to improve its properties, reducing the degree of recovery with minimal preservation of the surface quality of casting components from graphitizing iron alloys at KASI spol. s.r.o .. The diploma thesis evaluates the properties of the molding mixture before changing the base sands composition, then is monitored the effect of the change of the base sands on the molding mixture, the degree of recovery (addition of new bentonite, new base sands, water distribution, Lustrous carbon carrier, etc.), and the surface quality of the manufactured castings was assessed both by the comparative method using the SVÚM standards and by checking the degree of non-conforming production. The diploma thesis contains the chapter dealing with an economic evaluation including possible saving and calculation of the experiment.
