Abstract

In my diploma thesis I deal with adsorption kinetics of peach stones (Prunus persica), using methods involving grain size, thermal and chemical treatment. To activate the sorbent, hydrochloric acid of concentrations 0,01 mol/l, 0,1 mol/l and 1 mol/l was used. The best sorption ability q based on experiments has been demonstrated by using fraction 1-2 mm which has been activated by hydrochloric acid for ninety minutes. I have compared my results with the results of plum stones (Prunus domestica) to find out which one of the biosorbents are more convenient for use. We can say that peach stones are definitely better for hexavalent chromium elimination from solutions.
