Abstract

This diploma thesis focuses on improving the injection moulding process of a plastic part using the Design of Experiments (DOE) method. The aim is to identify the key factors influencing the injection moulding process of a plastic part and to gain knowledge on the use of Design of Experiment (DOE) in manufacturing. The first part introduces the basic concepts and principles regarding plastic manufacturing and injection molding, the nature of improvement and the theoretical basis for the application of the DOE method. In the practical part, the procedure of application of the planned experiment for a specific case and the following presentation of the achieved results are presented.
