Abstract

This thesis deals with the evaluation set of requirements for glazed curtain walls in terms of fire safety and design of their innovations. The introductory chapters are devoted to glass, its properties, types, classification and use in building construction. It also specifies requirements for safety features glass constructions, indicates the possibility of determining the properties of selected glasses, assess the type and method of glazing on the fire resistance of the structure. The final chapter reviews the file requirements for glazed curtain walls and a proposal for their innovation in terms of fire safety. The separate supplements of this thesis contain images, tables and a list of rules and standards that apply to glass construction.
