Abstract
The master’s thesis deals with the experimental verification of selected parameters and the potential application of hydraulic ventilation using the HydroVent. The theoretical part describes the state of the art of the issue, ventilation methods used by fire and rescue units during their interventions and fluid mechanics principles essential for understanding HydroVent’s functioning. After introducing the HydroVent, the following section deals with the large-scale experiments forming the core of the practical part. These experiments made it possible to determine the device’s characteristics and to identify changes in parameters within the test compartments. The thesis also includes an assessment of the HydroVent Europe design based on insights gained during testing and on the collected data. Finally, a methodology for deploying the HydroVent nozzle in the interventions of fire and rescue units is proposed.
