Zhodnocení konvergenčního procesu v ekonomikách Rumunska a Bulharska

Abstract

The aim of bachelor thesis is evaluation of the convergence process in the economies of Romania and Bulgaria. The thesis is composed of two parts, the first part is theoretical and the second is practical. The theoretical part defines the concept of economic convergence and explains the differences between real and nominal convergence. Chapter defines the history of a single common currency, and also the implications and reasons of the Maastricht convergence criteria, which are further described. The practical part is based on the analysis of data and comparison of Bulgaria and Romania in terms of convergence of their economies, derived from the convergence reports of 2008, 2010 and 2012. At the end of the practical part is the evaluation of the level of convergence and the ability to adopt the euro.
