Abstract

This work deals with the influence of human capital on wages in the Prerovian district. The work is divided into three parts. The first part contains various definitions of human capital, their classification, as well as the historical development of human capital theory. The conclusion deals with wage differentiation. The second section describes the existing effects analyses of certain parts of the human capital on the wage level. In the last part my own research was conducted by means of questionnaire survey among respondent of the Prerovian district. The aim of this study is to assess the influence of specific factors of human capital on wages in the Prerovian district. My enquiry into the human capital influence on wages has confirmed the findings of the analyses. This means that both my research and the surveys mentioned in second section confirm the conclusion that human capital factors influence the wage level. However, individual factors of human capital have different impact in different fields of work of the respondents.
