Abstract
In the field of energy, there are themes such as achieving energy independence, safety and reliability of renewable energy sources, among the main themes of research and development. The use of renewable electricity sources, such as photovoltaic and wind power plants for self-sufficient energy supply of buildings or objects in the so-called Off-Grid insular autonomous systems is one of the ways to achieve energy independence. These systems are not connected to the electricity grid and they are capable to ensure a stable supply of electric power for a standardized object throughout the year. This system combines in most cases parallel co-operation of wind and photovoltaic power plants, the electrical output from individual sources is utilized for covering of electric power consumption in a separate insulated power grid and power excess is used to charge the storage batteries.
The task of the PhD thesis is a technical description of the Off-Grid system which is built in the area of VSB-TUO, together with the design and dimensioning of the different sources of power electronics for the power supply of a standard family house. An important part of the design of
Off-Grid system for the power supply energy self-sufficient house is the concept of short-circuit protection and overload protection, its design and implementation into the isolated single-phase electrical power system of the Off-Grid.
