Abstract
The goal of the thesis is to assess the selection procedure in KNIHCENTRUM.CZ and based on the survey data to evaluate the standpoints of the employees in regard of their satisfaction at work. Revealing of the main deficiencies, which influence the employees in a negative way and suggestion of the steps securing increased satisfaction at work are the core topics.
In order to achieve the goal of the thesis the method of data collection based on observation and personal discussion with the HR employee, together with the method of survey focused on the factors influencing satisfaction of the employees in the company were used. After having obtained the necessary data, analysis of individual steps of the recruitment procedure was made, and the survey data were processed and evaluated.
The final outcome of the thesis is that the company recruitment process is running as per the theoretical rules and that the main issue lies in the increasing number of selection procedures. Factors, which influence the satisfaction at work in a negative way, are inadequate assessment of the carried out work, absence of trainings, courses and benefits.
The conclusion of the thesis provides suggested specific recommendations, which shall contribute to a more efficient course of the selection procedures and increase of the satisfaction at work. This regards namely the growing number of the offered work positions per one selection procedure, to increase the salaries of the managers by at least 10%, cooperation with the education agency and offering of benefits, which the employees consider the most important, i.e. 13th salary, meal vouchers and longer holidays.
