Abstract
The work is focused on the Tertiary and describes the geological evolution in the world and in the Czech Republic. It deals primarily with geology Carpathian system in Moravia and is characterized by its Tertiary basin – the Vienna Basin and the Carpathian foredeep. It also a proposal for excursions selected locations, which are described in the work, and where there are remnants of this period.
