Abstract
The objective of this thesis is to compare the labour markets and employment policies of the Czech Republic and Denmark. The results were gained on the basis of a graphical comparison of selected employment, unemployment indices, and salary costs and public spending used for the employment policies. All the data are also compared with the average of EU-27, which helps to show what position the individual state holds within the European integration. Based on the gained results it was found out that the Danish labour market is much more effective because it uses the model of flexicurity. Simultaneously, a lot of money is spent on the employment policy, especially on an active employment policy.
