Abstract

This bachelor thesis is focused on the application of selected quality management tools for detecting causes of defects of a selected product in a company that manufactures plastic components. The theoretical part explains the term quality management and its impact on the automotive industry. Attention is also paid to the management of a nonconforming product, the way of resolving complaints and the use of some basic quality management instruments used in resolving complaints. The practical part deals with the characteristics of the company and getting acquainted with the management of complaints according to the internal documents of the organization. Furthermore, a specific complaint about a selected product is resolved. Using the application of some basic quality management tools, the root causes for the occurrence and escape of a defect are identified. After assessing the results, appropriate corrective and preventive measures are proposed.
