Abstract

This bachelor thesis focuses on remittances and their development aid. The aim of the thesis is to find out how the remittances influence the economic growth and economic development of the poor countries. Part of the thesis is to point out the official and unofficial remittances and their size. From the results of the work it can be stated that the remittances are a stable and reliable financial transfer. It has been shown that remittances directly affect poverty by increasing household incomes. However, this reduction is only slight. Remittances can have a positive and a negative impact on the country's economic growth and economic development.
