Abstract

The bachelor thesis focuses on different possibilities of using the Biolog testing system. Specifically, it addresses the possibilities of using test panels, the representation of tests in their composition and the areas of their use. The use of phenotypic test is essential for microbiology and environmental biology, where they are needed for the identification and characterization of microorganisms. The thesis further describes the principle of operation of each type of test, analyses their advantages and limitations, and gives examples of their practical use in laboratories and field studies. The work also includes an overview of the methodologies commonly associated with these products, including an assessment of their contribution to biodiversity research, biological diagnostics and ecological monitoring.
