Abstract

The bachelor thesis deals with the production of tin soldier figures inspired by the period of World War II. The theoretical part includes the history of the origin and production of tin soldier figures and their use as toys and collectibles. The Eastern Front, which emerged in 1941 after Germany's invasion of Russia, is described in detail from the World War II period. The practical part describes the process of casting from design to final finishing. Individual chapters cover techniques for making clay models and silicone molds. Furthermore, the manufacturing technology using gravity casting and vacuum casting methods is addressed. The concluding section describes finishing work and surface treatments of the final cast.
