Abstract
This bachelor thesis focuses on the characteristic of the materials´ fracture surfaces, where there was hydrogen embrittlement. Three types of steel were evaluated, such as carbon steel VStE500, duplex stainless steel 22/05 and TRIP 800 steel. Their resistance to hydrogen embrittlement was measured using a tensile test. The effect of hydrogen embrittlement was reflected by percent reduction in area in all types of samples. Then it was possible to calculate the index of hydrogen embrittlement. Moreover, the hydrogen embrittlement was also reflected on the nature of the fracture surfaces, which were evaluated on the basis of the images from the scanning electron microscope.
