Abstract

Main goal of the bachelor thesis is study of a complex transporatation hub of four sided at-grade intersection with irregularly placed legs on the Republiky square in Opava. Legs are made up of sections of 1st class roads number 11, 16 and local communication. Purpose of the work is increase the traffic fluency, capacity and safety. The solution is performed within the range of a technical study. First section of the work includes evaluation of current state, this is based upon traffic reconnaissance and car accident statistic in the intersection. Second part is focused on modifications draft through the form of a roundabout and economical adjustment, based upon necessary capacity calculations with drawing documentation and there is also traffic-engineering evaluation of variants, including the best one selection. Very last section solves particular won variant with towed curves and view on the intersection.
