Abstract
This bachelor’s thesis focuses on the study of selected cave sediments from Holštejnská Cave located in the Moravian Karst. The aim of the thesis is to analyze the properties of these sediments and to interpret the conditions of their formation and development. The research is based on a combination of field sampling and laboratory analyses, including grain-size (sieve) analysis, X-ray diffraction, and grain shape analysis.
The results reveal variability in sediment composition and allow reconstruction of sedimentation processes influenced mainly by hydrological and climatic conditions. The findings contribute to a better understanding of the evolution of the cave system and the broader karst environment of the Moravian Karst and may serve as a basis for further geological research and conservation of karst areas.
