Abstract
The aim of this thesis is describing the Labe waterway in terms of its history as well as the current freight, including both positive and negative impacts on the adjacent countryside with its ecosystems. The text also deals with possibilities and perspectives of further development of this waterway regarding environmental, economic and public impacts.
