Abstract
MORAVEC, J. Concrete reinforcing fiber made from carbon fiber composite waste, Bachelor thesis. Ostrava: VŠB –Technical University of Ostrava, Faculty of Civil Engineering, Department of Building materials an diagnostics of Structures, 2020, 70 p., Supervisor: Ing. David Bujdoš.
This bachelor thesis addresses the usage and effectiveness of the waste from industrial production of composite parts from the automotive and mechanical engineering industry for the production of composite fibres for concrete. Nowadays, technical fibres are successfully added to concrete in order to improve some of the properties of the resulting fiber concrete. The experiment is designed for this reason so, that the waste material is added into a concrete mixture in various proportions and the properties of the resulting bodies are examined.
In the theoretical part, terms releted to this topic are described. Including fiber concrete (its history, present, properties and composition), types of fibres which are available on the market. Also carbon fiber composite materials, the carbon fiber itself, perspective and the carbon fiber market are described. Moreover, there is short insight into the recycling of composite carbon materials.
In the experimental part, there is described the production of bodies that every time consist of different form of carbon composite admixture. These were the cut composite fibres and the ground form of the composite. Another part was the creation of recipes, their mixing and subsequent production of test specimens on which physical and mechanical properties were tested. All tests were performed according to valid standards in the Czech Republic.
