Abstract

This thesis deals with the issue of building evacuation and safety signage. In the introduction, the general principles of building evacuation and the limitations of human evacuation are described. A description of the use of safety signage and its distribution is given. Subsequently, experimental measurements to determine the evacuation rate of persons using different types of safety marking designs are described. Finally, the measured values are evaluated and the findings and recommendations that emerged from the measurement process are described.
