Abstract

This thesis deals with the preparation of blast furnace coke. In the metallurgical industry, the current trend is to replace a certain amount of blast furnace coke by other alternative fuels. The period, during which the coke has to stay in furnace shaft is extending. That places high demands on its quality. At present, the amount of good quality coking coal suitable for making high-quality blast furnace coke is being reduced. In the coke industry is becoming an important stage compilation of suitable coal charges, which include larger ratio of low-quality coking coal. One of the possibility how to use lower quality coal is its handling by selective grinding, which is characterized by a specific grain size distribution.
