Abstract

In the present dissertation I examine the effects on the protection of settlements and atmospheres by degassing boreholes. It is known that they have been established, when after a massive decline of mining in the Ostrava – Karviná district, showed escaping of gas from underground. Their significance is taken into account only from point of view, how boreholes protect settlements and how develop flow volumes and gas concentrations on them. The influence of methane, which escapes from boreholes continuously on air pollution, was neglected. Now I pay attention to this phenomenon in the thesis. According to international guidelines for the protection of the atmosphere and the relevant legislative acts of the Czech Republic (CR) and Ministry of environment CR I assess the real impact of this fact and also from the view that I expressed by financial reasoning. This process has brought a remarkable result, which may affect other way to protect against leaking methane.
