Abstract

The cities of Most and Litvínov are located in the Ústí Region and have a combined population of over 100,000. Therefore, since 1901, these cities have been connected by public transport. The transport company of the cities of Most and Litvínov is an integral part of the public transport infrastructure of the Ústí Region, which is important for not only connecting these cities, but also their remote parts. Its historical development includes many large investment projects, be it new routes, new vehicles, the construction of stops, and even new routes and state-of-the-art services in vehicles. The company had and has the opportunity to test two innovative types of zero-emission drives for public transport vehicles. The European Union has decided to abolish internal combustion engines by 2035 for all member countries, therefore transport companies are responding quickly to alternative types of drives in transport. The solution is two options, namely operating on electric drive or hydrogen drive.
