Abstract

This bachelor thesis deals with the issue of rescue and search of persons from a water cylinder. The thesis sets out several objectives, the first two focus on the possibilities of marking weirs and the equipment of weirs by catchment managers. The thesis describes these topics along with some suggestions and complications. In order to fulfill the other objectives, it presents a methodical procedure for performing a rescue and search of persons from a water cylinder. It describes the possibilities of cooperation with other IZS units and evaluates the preparedness of fire protection units. It analyses the most suitable methods for rescuing persons from a water cylinder based on the speed of the rescue and safety for the rescuer. It also assesses whether these methods are suitable for searching for persons. It looks in detail at the establishment of a rope traverse and methods of pulling a rope across a watercourse. The last chapter presents personal protective and technical equipment suitable for use in rescue and search of persons from a water cylinder. At the end of this chapter, foreign technical means are presented which offer a completely new application for rescue from a water cylinder and from water in general. The thesis also includes a statistical evaluation of incidents on watercourses, from 2012 to 2021, with a focus on incidents associated with weirs.
