Abstract
The presented diploma thesis examines the subject matter which refers to old environmental burdens (contaminated sites) and current legislation concerning contaminated sites. It also describes the specific steps leading to the removal of old environmental burdens as well as decontamination technology used. The final part deals with decontamination proposal of the specific area in Vítkovice, a.s. – the chosen part of Lower Area of Vítkovice - Koksochemie and National Cultural Monument.
