Abstract
This Bachelor thesis deals with the corrosion properties of austenitic stainless steels AISI 316L and AISI 316Ti, which serve as pipelines for the distribution of aggressive gases. The theoretical part was focused on the description of degradation processes with an emphasis on the types of metal corrosion and the description of stainless steel types. This was followed by a description of pipes manufacturing methods, their formability and final quality requirements. Last but not least, a description of our selected materials and the type of aggressive environments were discussed. In the practical part selected types of steels were tested by potentiodynamic polarization to determine their corrosion properties. There also were the metallographic analysis, surface roughness test and microhardness test performed for a more comprehensive view of the topic.
