Abstract
The aim of this particular diploma thesis is the design, calculation and comparison of a slow-turning permanent magnet excited hydro-alternator with a power of 310 kW for the use in a small hydroelectric power plant. The work first discusses the construction and the design principles of synchronous machines with permanent magnets. This is followed by the analytical design of the machine, determination of its parameters, starting with the dimensions, followed by the design of the stator winding, the calculation of its magnetic circuit, leakage inductances and qualitative parameters of the machine. This is followed by a chapter on the creation of a model for the application of numerical methods. The given machine is first calculated using numerical methods software, then it is analyzed using the finite element method in the Maxwell 2D environment. The results of both of these calculations are comapred at the end.
