Abstract
The thesis deals with SAR interferometry data processing with special attention to terrain changes occurred after floods in summer 1997. The main objective is focused on vertical terrain changes induced by flood event using DInSAR method. The area of interest is known for land subsidence cause by mining activity and it is desirable to find out whether there are traces of surface displacement connected to floods. It‟s relatively young scientific discipline and can be limited by many aspects (the area of interest with its specific terrain characteristics). The area of interest represents Ostrava and Karvina municipality with their surrounding area. The ERS-1 and ERS-2 data were obtained from the European Space Agency (ESA) through Category 1 project C1P.4578 „Surveillance of Man-induced Terrain Changes Using EO Data„. The data cover years 1996, 1997, 1998 with 35 days observation period. DInSAR processing was performed using the DORIS (Delft University open-source software).
