Abstract

The thesis is focused on the electrical protection of the VVER 400 unit at Dukovany. The content of the thesis is a general understanding of the principle of operation of electrical protection, its technical design and description of the different types used in these systems. The work also includes the design of a new protection system that better reflects the modern requirements for reliability and protection of the Dukovany nuclear power plant units. In addition, the calculation of minimum and maximum short-circuit currents is also performed, which serves as a basis for the sizing and setting of protection. The results of the thesis could serve as a basis for the modernization of electrical protection.
