Abstract
The aim of this work is to design a device, that could improve the lives of people affected by Parkinson's disease. In particular to improve their gait and stability vibratory stimulations feet that are synchronized with the patient's gait. Already in several previous studies have found positive effects after using similar vibrating equipment, or whole-body vibration therapy, which had a significant impact on just walking in patients with Parkinson's disease.
This problem was solved by placing the vibrating mechanism into the shoes of the patient, which also runs a pressure sensing feet on the ground using piezo transducers. The signal from the piezo transducer is amplified and digitized. Based on the logic level is evaluated by the respective start vibrating device in the shoe.
RESULT
Based on the results it is evident that this method may be beneficial for patients with Parkinson's disease, and to some extent affect their quality of life. It will however, be subjected to a greater spectrum of patients by further testing that it is possible to say that this method of stimulation is effective in all patients with different stages of disease.
