Problematika světelně řízených křižovatek se zalomenou předností

Abstract

The subject of this thesis is to analyse the issue of traffic light-controlled intersections with the main road in an indirect direction. Two typical intersections were selected for capacity assessment and analysis of characteristic conflict situations. These are the intersections of Bílovecká, Polanecká and Nad Porubkou streets in Ostrava Svinov, as well as Švabinského and Poděbradova streets in the centre of Ostrava. The purpose of this thesis is to analyse current traffic and its pitfalls, which have a non-negligible effect on the safety of traffic participants at these intersections. Based on a detailed analysis, a modification option was proposed that increases traffic safety and the clarity of traffic organization in the intersection area.
