Abstract

This diploma thesis focuses on the analysis of the knowledge base of professionally qualified persons in the field of fire protection. The aim of the thesis is to define the minimum scope of required knowledge, assess its adequacy in relation to practical requirements, and propose pos-sible directions for optimizing the system of professional competence. The theoretical part is devoted to the analysis of the legislative and regulatory framework, par-ticularly the requirements arising from Act No. 133/1985 Coll., on Fire Protection, and its im-plementing regulations. It also includes an analysis of study materials intended for preparation for the professional qualification examination and their evaluation in terms of practical applica-bility. The empirical part is based on a questionnaire survey conducted among professionally qualified persons and members of the state fire supervision authority. The results are subsequently com-pared and interpreted in the context of practical performance requirements. The analysis reveals a partial mismatch between theoretical preparation and the practical re-quirements of professional performance, particularly in terms of application and decision-making competencies. The thesis concludes with recommendations aimed at strengthening prac-tical training, developing continuous education, and refining the system of professional compe-tence in the field of fire protection.
