Abstract
This bachelor thesis is on the topic "Assessment of the Employee Learning and Development System in a Selected Contributory Organization“. Specifically, the thesis deals with the issue of learning and development in a healthcare facility. The aim is to analyse the current learning and development system in a healthcare facility setting through a questionnaire survey and semi-structured interviews. Based on the results of the analysis, recommendations are offered to improve the learning and development process. Three research questions were identified for the research to better focus attention on key outcomes.
The sample of the survey is 187 respondents. Semi-structured interviews were conducted with two respondents in different job positions. The research revealed that the highest educational attainment has no impact on the practical application of knowledge, that employees prefer face-to-face training over e-learning and attending training for career growth which is influenced by other factors. Four suggestions for improvement were also made: improving accessibility of training, tailoring training content to current employee needs, streamlining mandatory training, and increasing motivation for career growth.
