This diploma thesis deals with the specifications of theoretical solutions for the investment analysis and the following decision making. In the practical part I applied theoretical knowledge in a real company project. The observed subject is in the present-day turbulent and global economics not only topical, but more and more important in the issue of business competition. In the first chapter there is an investment specification which was done on the basis of the obtained information. This specification is followed by the investment project, the stages of its implementation and the ways of its financing. In the fundamental part of this chapter there are presented evaluative criteria and the record of the risks in the investment decision making. The second chapter describes ŽDB GROUP a.s. The description is followed by the evaluation of the investment project operating in the company. For the determination and the analysis of the current situation I used the study of the company documentation and the consultations with the technical and economical employees employed in the project. The next part of the chapter deals with the determination and quantification of risks resulting from the project. In the final part there are calculation summary, the interpretation and the supplementary recommendation for the possible improvement of the current situation in the company. It is important to consider carefully the spending of the financial sources which determine, in crucial way, the direction of the company development.
