Abstract

This bachelor’s thesis examines the process of industrial decarbonisation in the Czech Republic within the context of European climate objectives, national legislation, and the principles of the circular economy. The study analyses key legislative frameworks, evaluates their transposition into the Czech legal system, and assesses their impact on industrial enterprises. Special attention is devoted to the construction and steel sectors - industries with high emissions and significant potential for transformation. Based on the review of scholarly publications, strategic documents, and case studies, the thesis identifies the main institutional, economic, and systemic barriers to decarbonisation. It also demonstrates that the circular economy can serve as a crucial tool for achieving emission reduction goals. In conclusion, the thesis formulates recommendations for public policy and industrial practice.
