Abstract

The present thesis dealing with “The influence of the surface defects on the wire durability“ was executed in the company ŽDB GROUP a.s., production unit zDr - TPD in order to identify a state of the drawn wires and determine the exact limit (depth) of the surface defect causing problems to clients. The theoretical part of the thesis contains an introduction to the surface defects problems, their general division, survey of the used checking methods and description of defects of the input rolled wire. The experimental part of the thesis comprises an analysis of regulations related to the surface defects and an output of the monitored surface defects of final, drawn wires by means of microscopic checking. The final part of the thesis offers the exact depth limit of the surface defects depending on problems arising to clients.
