Abstract

The goal of this diploma thesis is to evaluate the business strategy of a foreign subsidiary company in the manufacturing industry. The theoretical background part of the thesis describes the fundamental terms related to transnational corporations and to strategic management. Most important of all, the part defines what a business strategy is. The concluding part of the chapter describes the approaches and the methods that the empirical part of the thesis will use. The empirical part of the thesis deals with introducing the company and concisely outlining its history. In particular, the part also takes a deeper look at the company’s business strategy currently in use. By the end of the chapter, the relevant analyses of the company’s business environment are applied. The financial analysis uses financial ratios and survey research. Following is a summary of the results of all the applied analyses followed by my own suggestions and recommendations.
