Abstract

The diploma thesis deals with the effect of simulated atmospheric effects on the modulation formats used in optical communications. This thesis is focused on the modulation and its design and construction, photon-effectivity, bandwidth, and sensitivity to interference from the surrounding environment, which affects the quality of detection of the received signal. The measurements were used two types of modulators and demodulators, the modulation type OOK and PSK. The aim is to determine the experimental measurements in simulation boxes influence of mechanical turbulence, turbulence and thermal fog on the quality of the received optical signal. The measured results were compared with simulation in the program OptiSystem from which you can observe the influence of atmospheric environment on the modulation formats with regard to the theoretically calculated values.
