Abstract
The thesis describes x-ray propagation, its detection and assessment of its effects on individuals. The theory section examines the mechanisms of x-ray generation and principles of propagation and detection. The summary of dosimetry characteristics and their correlation as well as the summary of collected data on absorption half-life are also featured and represent vital parts of the thesis. Another section is focused on derivation of the formula stating relation between x-ray recession and environment. The second part of the thesis is dedicated to Matlab software application intended for calculation of x-ray propagation and its recession in various environments. The final section of the thesis covers practical measurement while using two common x-ray instruments. The measurement will be conducted in standard medical facilities. The results will be compared with theoretical calculations and their effects on the human body will be assessed.
