Abstract

This work focuses on the issue of effective water treatment in a four-person household. Marginally it mentions the possibility of collecting rainwater for household usage. The main part discusses the use of greywater produced by washing hands, showering, bathing or laundry. Theoretical estimation of production of these less polluted waters and the amount of produced pollution is also included. Based on the said estimation, a greywater treatment system AS-GW/AQUALOOP is connected into the plumbing system, which cleans greywater and makes it usable again, mainly for flushing, doing laundry, other various household works and sprinkler systems. Final part is dedicated to an evaluation and analysis of quantity of saved drinkable water and financial reasonability along with its return value. The final section is devoted to the amount saved by good quality drinking water and calculates the return on the initial investment.
