Abstract

In this thesis basic characteristics of ferritic and austenitic heat resistant steels are discussed. These steels are used for production of power plant components. The thesis deals with basic testing methods of heat resistant materials and the effect of common alloying elements on creep characteristics of these materials is discussed. In the experimental part of the thesis metallographic investigations on creep ruptured specimens of niobium-bearing AISI 316LN steels were carried out. Furthermore, hardness evaluation of specimens investigated was performed.
